Trained at Leeds College of Music 1998-2002 under head tutor Ted Lee

Firstly working in a music shop in Leeds whist studying

then running Philip Porter Guitars to this day

 proud to now be one of Manchester longest running guitar repair shops

at locations in Stockport and Manchester

I have enjoyed a long career in the music instrument repair and manufacture industry and over the years I have worked for a large number of customers repairing and restoring their beloved instruments. 

​​I have always undertaken a wide range of tasks and am knowledgeable in all aspects of instrument construction, 

vintage instrument repair ​​from the wealth of knowledge that was bestowed upon me by numerous tutors that I studied with at the beginning of my career.

I have worked in bespoke instrument manufacture all my life and am well practiced in the art of assembling instruments. 

I have worked through out the industry building many one off instrument throughout the years

whist enjoying and embracing new technologies.
