Other Short Courses that we can offer

As well as the courses we are currently running we can offer you tailored courses that will allow you to make any modifications or alterations to your instrument that you would like. We can also help with the restoration of instruments, teaching you the skills needed to help you repair and return an older instrument back to its former glory.

Suggestions for short courses that you could wish to do include:

Re-fret course.

Scratch plate making course.

Nut replacement - Work out the spacing and build new nut of a solid material, bone or something similar.

Spray finishing course -  finishing or refinishing of your instrument. In most cases you will receive help in this task so that you will achieve the best results.

These short courses can be arranged on a individual basis, so if there is anything you wish to do then please feel free to get in touch. They can be held as a half or full day courses to meet your requirements.

I would like my workshop to be a place where everyone is welcome to work on their own instrument under supervision. If anything is daunting, then you will always be able to receive help with explanations and demonstrations readily available enabling you to complete the task at hand.

Courses can be tailored to your individual needs so if there is something you would like to do please let me know via email contact page

Depending on the type of course you select a time scale can be arranged for you.

Half day courses will start from around £80, a full days course will cost £150.

I have attended a number of guitar repair and renovation tutorial sessions with Philip at his workshop. I began learning a whole range of skills and insight into guitar repair and construction virtually from the start of the of the first session. This was exactly what I needed and I had been looking for this type of learning environment and training program for many years. Philip is an excellent tutor he is extremely knowledgeable, very skillful and patient. He explains the processes of guitar repair and construction in a particularly well structured and easy to apprehend way. If you are serious about wanting to learn to repair or build guitars I can fully recommend Philip and the programmes he offers.
